Labor Day is the "unofficial end of summer." My guest and I thought we all deserved a few more days of sunshine and summer fun. Today's podcast guest is one of my friends from long ago.   He initially appeared on my original "Someone You Should Know" radio show in 2001. It's 22 years later and he's traded in the snows of Lake Tahoe for the sandy beaches of Costa Rica where he's become the "Costa Man." His music has blown up on Facebook and YouTube and I know you're gonna love him too. So raise that drink high one last time as I introduce you to my dear friend Darin Talbot, Someone You Should Know.

Barron Ryan
Composer / Author

Classic Meets Cool on today's podcast.  Today's guest finished a composition a lyricist/musician had composed for his wife prior to his death, but it took 40 years before it was brought to life.  The composer was Don Fagin, who passed away in 1981—six years before today's guest was even born. Don's wife became friends with my guest and she had him look through Don's files.  The end result is a book and a beautiful song called, "Honey, If It Wasn't For You." My guest is a pianist, composer, and one of Smithsonian Magazine’s 10 Innovators to Watch in 2021. He's Barron Ryan, Someone You Should Know.

Because my guest helped me come up with a name and concept for the Someone You Should Know Radio program back in the late '90s. He's a very talented and creative guy, with whom I worked side-by-side for over 19 years and I am lucky to call him my dear friend. Will you please welcome Ron Stevens, Someone You Should (definitely) Know.

Lynn Marie & Eddie Rodick

My father used to listen to me on the radio until his passing in 2001. One comment he always had was, "You don't play enough polkas."  Well, Dad,  we're going to correct that today, and since it's Octoberfest, I found some appropriate music for the festivities. Today's podcast guest was on the original Someone You Should Know program in 2001. It's 22 years later, and she has a new sound but hasn't forgotten her polka roots. Please welcome the lady that Jay Leno called "The Dixie Chick of the Accordion," the lovely Lynn Marie and her husband Eddie Rodick.
